A school with a rich history, integrated into our community

  • Colorado’s first school for gifted students, Mackintosh Academy was founded in 1977 in Denver by Eve Mackintosh
  • Moved to Littleton in the late 1980s; second campus in Boulder opened in 2011
  • Achieved International Baccalaureate authorization in 2006, further enriching our program
  • 120 students in PreK – 8th grade on our picturesque Littleton campus
  • All ages participate in service-learning projects to benefit the greater community, often focusing on environmentalism and sustainability

  • Colorado Garden Foundation Grant 2017 to install hydroponic system in greenhouse
  • President’s Environmental Youth Award 2016 – the nation’s highest environmental honor for students
  • State Farm Youth Advisory Grant in 2014 to install solar panels, making Mack the first school in Littleton to get a majority of its power from solar
